In the middle school, high interest exploratory classes are provided for students. These classes allow students to "test" areas of potential interest, such as computer keyboarding, word processing, creative writing, music, art, and study skills.
In addition to exploratory classes, through large and small group instruction as well as group conseling activities, middle school students participate in the advisor-advisee program. This program, which is frequently found in middle schools, provides opportunities for students to engage in discourse, and receive guidance regarding a number of issues that will likely affect them now or in the future. Among the issues which are likely to be addressed during advisor-advisee are social dynamics, conflict resolution, positive and negative peer pressure, hazards of illegal drug use, alcohol and tobacco, etc.
