Alumni Association

The newly created Bishop Byrne Alumni Association provides opportunity and purpose for former students to come together socially and in support of their alma mater.  Alumni are an important resource to the school, modeling success for today’s students, providing leaders and volunteers for many school activities, supporting the school financially, maintaining meaningful relationships, and sharing fun and friendships.  Alums from our first graduating class in 1966 through recent graduates have reconnected with their school and each other, sharing  memories of common beginnings and building a future for those that will follow.  Today we benefit from the involvement of alumni in a number of ways, including those serving on our Board of Directors (Board of Limited Jurisdiction), joining school committees, helping with athletics and sporting events, lending professional services, and returning as guest speakers for career days and school assemblies.

The Bishop Byrne Alumni Association will be working toward several goals and hosting a number of activities in the coming year.  The first being the 1st Annual Circle of Distinction Award Reception.  This annual award will honor former Bishop Byrne grads who have distinguished themselves in fields of business, religion, education, athletics, community service, or philanthropy.  This year’s award will be presented to Archbishop Peter Sartain, Class of ’70, recently appointed by Pope Benedict XVI to serve the Archdiocese of Seattle.  See details under Alumni Activities and Events.

There is a place for you in the Alumni Association, serving on our Association Board, helping to plan events, providing financial support, or just reconnecting with friends.  We’re just getting started, so we’re looking for leadership and people who like to make things happen.  We hope you will join us!

Be sure to visit us on FaceBook at Bishop Byrne High School Alumni Page, to keep up with current news and to find your friends.  And don’t forget to keep us informed of your email and mailing address changes.  Your alumni liaison within the school is Carol Carlson, Director of Institutional Advancement.  To reach her, call the school office at 901-346-3060 or carlson@bishopbyrne.org.
