Bishop Byrne Alumni Association Kicks Off With Trivia
“Knight”
Forty-six
years worth of Bishop Byrne graduates have come together to
form the new Bishop Byrne Alumni Association. Their
mission; to foster fellowship among all BBMHS alumni,
promote strong relationships between alumni and the school,
provide resources to the school in support of current and
future students, and promote the school to the community at
large.
“We are so
excited to have the Alumni Association up and running and
offering such great support for our school and our
students”, said Carol Carlson, Advancement Director at
Bishop Byrne. She continued, “We have so many amazing
people that have come out of Bishop Byrne over the years,
and to see them working together for a common goal of
supporting their school is exciting. The energy and talent
they bring is already making a difference.”
The first
alumni sponsored event will be a Trivia “Knight”, so named
after the Red Knights of Bishop Byrne, on Saturday, January
14th. For a convenient and centrally located
venue, the event will be held at St. Louis School, in the
Orian Center Gymnasium, at 203 White Station Rd. at Shady
Grove. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., allowing plenty of time for
eating and visiting before the game begins at 7:00 p.m.
Memphis’ renowned Trivia King, Bro. Ignatius Brown, will
MC. Teams consist of 6-8 players and advance registration
is just $15 per player before Jan. 12th. Late
registrations and walk-ins will be $20 pp. Smaller groups
and individual players wil be paired into teams, so everyone
is encouraged to attend.
With a
theme of Camelot, there will be plenty of mental
jousting as teams compete in ten rounds of ten questions
each, for fun and prizes. Door prizes and Heads or Tails
games will ensure that everyone has a chance to win. Free
soft drinks, set-ups, and simple snacks will be available,
but participants are encouraged to bring their own food and
beverages. Mulligans will be available at the door for $5
each or five for $20. For more information and a
