Bishop Byrne Middle and High School is owned and operated by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Memphis in Tennessee and operates under the juridicial and canonical authority of the Bishop of Memphis.
Under the supervision of the Secretary of Education/Superintendent of schools, the head of school, the principal, is chief executive officer of the institution, and is appointed and empowered by the Bishop of the diocese to act as the juridicial and canonical person of the school.
The school is accredited by the Commission on Secondary and Middle Schools of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The school is also approved by the Department of Education of the State of Tennessee.
