The following are requirements which are consistent with those of the Tennessee Student Assistance Corporation for scholarship applicants for the 2004-2005 school year (college scholarships):

High School
Religion 4 Mathematics 3
English 4 Science 3
Foreign Language 2 U.S. History 1
Physical Education .5 Other Social Studies 2
Wellness .5 Visual/Performing Arts 1
Electives 3  
Total Carnegie Units Required for Graduation: 24

An adjustment in the number of Religion units required will be made for students transferring from schools that are not Catholic or Catholic schools that do not require completion of one unit of Religion annually.

Students are also required to sit for the ACT (American College Test) prior to graduation.

In order to receive a diploma and/or have records transferred, seniors must meet the the following criteria:



All financial obligations to the school must be satisfied.

The required number of Carnegie units of credit must be reflected on the transcript.
ACT scores must be on file.

All disciplinary requirements must be met (i.e. unserved detentions).
The required service component must be satisfied.

Middle School

The student must satisfactorily complete the required course of studies for grades 7 and 8. Beginning with the 2004-2005 school year, each student will be required to accumulate 20 community service hours each year of enrollment at Bishop Byrne. The service component must be documented and approved by the Religion teacher.
