Service to
Others
Bishop Byrne Middle and High
School strives to provide students with an authentic
Catholic educational experience characterized by an
environment of mutual respect, academic excellence, and the
development of the total person.
This includes a strong emphasis
on service to God and community. In keeping with this
tradition, we have increased the service requirements for
each student to 20 hours per year. In addition to this, we
now require each class (Freshmen, Sophomores, Juniors,
Seniors) to complete service projects as well as each school
club and athletic team.
Students participate in a
number of service projects each year, including food drives
for the local food bank, serving donuts and coffee to
firefighters, tutoring elementary students at neighboring
schools, and choir performances for area hospital patients
during the holidays. Students have walked for diabetes
research and raised funds for St. Jude Childrens Research
Hospital. The spirit of giving at Bishop Byrne runs deep.
Building personal strength and strong character through
service to others is an integral part of our program.
